The Sullivan Line

Annie Sullivan’s family — Munster Irish into the Long line

Paternal line — Annie Sullivan married Thomas Long

The Sullivans are Munster Irish — the O’Sullivan (Ó Súilleabháin) clan was one of the great ruling families of Cork and Kerry. Florence Sullivan, Annie’s father, bore a name distinctly Munster Irish: Florence was a common male name in 19th-century Irish families, anglicized from the Gaelic Flaithrí or Fínghin, common among the McCarthy and O’Sullivan families of Cork and Kerry.

Their daughter Annie Sullivan (b. 16 Dec 1866) married Thomas Long in Fall River, Massachusetts, joining the Sullivan line into the Long line.
