The Manions arrived in the United States in 1873from Connacht, Ireland. Patrick John Manion (1837–1907) and Honora Carrabine (b. 1835) brought six of their seven children with them; their youngest, Mary, was born in the United States a year after the crossing. Their daughter Honora — known as Nora Annie — married John Joseph Coogan in Warwick, Rhode Island in 1885.
