What the Records Show

John Joseph Coogan worked in the textile mills of Warwick and West Warwick, Rhode Island. In 1910 the census recorded him as a fireman at a cotton mill. Four of his children were working that year: Frank as a machinist in a machine shop, John H. as an apprentice printer, and Nellie and Raymond at the print works, Nellie as an operative and Raymond as a clerk. [1] In 1920, in Riverpoint village, West Warwick, he was a laborer at a velvet mill. His son Leo was then working at the print works. [2]
