What the Records Show

Raymond Edward Coogan started work at the print works in Warwick, Rhode Island. In 1910, aged seventeen, he was a clerk there; the word the enumerator wrote before "clerk" is not clearly legible. [1] In 1920 he was still living with his parents in West Warwick and was recorded as a clerk; that entry gives an employer, but it is too faint to read with confidence. [2] By 1930 he was head of his own household in Riverpoint village, West Warwick, and worked as an assistant manager in an insurance office. [3] By 1940 the family lived in Ward 2 of Fall River, Massachusetts. [4]
