What the Records Show

William Harrison died at Tiverton, Rhode Island, on 17 February 1855, at about 70; the Rhode Island death index names his father as John Harison. [1] FamilySearch's tree gives his birth as 6 September 1784 at Tiverton, but Arnold's Vital Record of Rhode Island has no Harrison birth in the Tiverton records, so the date and place are not yet supported. [5]

FamilySearch's tree gives his marriage to Mary Peckham on 9 September 1809 at Troy, the town that became Fall River, Massachusetts; no record of it has been read yet. [2] The family's records place them at Tiverton: their son William H. Harrison was born there on 9 July 1818, [3] and their son Lemuel married Catherine Gardner there on 6 September 1841. [5] Their daughter Fanny P. Harrison, who married William Winter, died at Fall River in 1892; her death record names her parents as William and Mary E. Peckham. [4]
